Cap Proffitt's foundation as a feedlot manager began as he was raised on his family's diversified farming and cattle operation in the local area. Entering the 'feedyard world' in 1980 as a pen rider, he worked his way through all facets of feedyard operation to become manager of Barton County Feeders, Inc. in 1989. In the early years, he recognized a difference in the level of professionalism between feedlots. The spread between average feedlots and the top cut organizations was a wide gap. Becoming manager was the opportunity to accomplish the vision of a team oriented organization that begins each day with the customer as priority. |
